Slowly, but surely…

No, I didn’t call YOU Shirley!  LOL

Okay, all jokes aside, I’m still trying to get this house in order.  I need someone to come over that has no attachments to my stuff and start pitching stuff.  I felt pretty good a couple of days ago; I actually tossed some clothes that I’m going to recycle!  I don’t throw clothes away, but I decided that I didn’t like them and they don’t fit or look good on me.

There is no way this house is EVER going to be ready for a home study in June.  I have pictures that still needs to be hung up and I don’t know where to put them.  Rob and I bought a new kitchen table set and I can’t put it together by myself.  I put the coffee table together, but it seems to have become a “catch-all”–just like every other surface in my house.  I hate being such a pack-rat.  I really NEED to get rid of a bunch of stuff!  I’m pathetic!  I’m currently looking at the cleanest thing in the house…the computer…the desktop is clean!  LOL  And the bookcase is mostly clean.  There’s stuff that’s stacked on there that doesn’t belong there, but I don’t know where else to put it.  I have yarn on one of the shelves (but it’s on top of DVDs)!  I don’t even know where to start.  I’ve just put a load of dishes in the dishwasher, but there’s at least one more load that needs to be run today and there’s several loads of laundry that needs to get done.  I can’t find the shelves that go for my curio cabinet and the rug that was on the floor in the old apartment is still rolled up and leaning in the corner.

I guess I should just start where I am and put it in the room that it belongs in and get to that room later…I really don’t know.  Anyway, I’m just procrastinating and I need to get busy.  Talk to you later…I’m going to contemplate this a bit!

If you have any suggestions, I’m open to your thoughts on how to get better organized; I welcome your comments!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. I keep my yarn in a large tote bag next to the side of the couch that I sit on, I also have it in a small plastic container… Other than that, I don’t have any suggestions, as there are still boxes from when I moved in (a year ago) and when the husband bought the house (2 years ago). I’ll be praying that your cleaning/organizing goes smoothly, so you can get your home study done. I don’t think i’ve mentioned it, but I really appreciate your heart for adoption instead of seeking treatments. It’s something I’ve given a lot of thought too, and if we happen to have fertility problems, its the route I want to take. Just wanted to share that tonight.
