Tired

It seems that I’ve been working endlessly on this Haunted House and I’m tired. The house is almost done, there’s just a few finishing touches that needs to get done today, but it won’t take long and a police call around the area which if everyone pitches in will only take 5 minutes at the most. We’ve got our monsters and we’re going to get everyone into costume this afternoon. I’ve got to order pizza for everyone, but I have to find a flyer or something.

I’m nervous about this. I don’t know what else to write about other than I’m worried about this house. I hope we get people to come out and check it out. Well, TTFN for now. Perhaps I’ll write more later this evening after everything is said and done.

Haunted House

Well, yesterday, we started working on the house and one of the silly Soldiers was playing around with the costumes. It was so funny, that I had to snap a picture. There will be more, but this is the only one that I got yesterday.

I also got a great video…I think I’m gonna save it until after the Haunted House is over with before I post it online. I’m pretty excited about it, though!

Bored

I want to research something, today…but I don’t know what to research. My brain hasn’t been working very well the last few weeks and I just feel really stupid right about now. I know what I can do, but it will only take 5 minutes. What do I do with the rest of my time?

I just got out of the shower, and I’m sitting on the couch wrapped in towels, listening to the dog bark at me. There’s fresh coffee brewed and it’s chilly again today. I thought it was going to rain, but I’ve learned that it’s only threatening to and IF it does, it’s going to wait until we have everyone outside, setting up.

I just called Rob and I guess there are guys going out NOW to start setting up the house, so I guess I better get dressed and get my butt over there. Will send pictures later this evening…maybe….lol

Brrrrr!

It’s chilly today! I’ve got the windows closed, but the drapes open and it’s darned cold in this house. I know for a fact that my bathroom is the warmest room in the apartment because we keep a window open constantly in there, yet, it feels twice as warm in there as it does in the rest of the house.

I rode my bike today. I was glad that I found my gloves last night because I don’t know if I could have made it without them. I don’t have earmuffs or a cap, so my ears were cold, but they warmed up. It’s definitely warmer today than it was yesterday.

I have a lot of stuff going on at the PAO. I’m doing several stories and the deadline is Monday! ACK! Well, anyway that’s just mainly getting pictures of the Haunted Houses here in Hanau and also going to the school to interview the coach for the Girl’s Volleyball team and get some pictures of them practicing.

I’m getting ready to leave to put up signs in the stairwells of people’s houses this afternoon, so I should probably get ready to go. That’s all the news I have for today.

Updated photoblog

A Brisk Walk and Fun were updated this morning, for your viewing pleasure. I’m really having a lot of fun with this new lens! Woohoo! Anyway, today has been interesting. I’ve been working with the FRG for a few months now. Boy, am I exhausted. It takes a lot of energy to take care of families the way they are meant to be taken care of! Thankfully, Rob’s been really great about it and honestly, I can’t imagine having a different job. I can’t imagine that I used to work at the bank and honestly, I don’t know what took me so long to start working at the PAO. It’s like I was meant to do all that!

While I was downtown with my ladies, I bought some flowers. I just adore roses and I found some beautiful Champagne Roses and lovely white and yellow ones, too. It’s actually a very nice fall floral arrangement!

I’ve been having a BLAST doing the photography! This week is going to be busy with Haunted House stuff. I need to make a trip to see our competition, take a few pictures and write a combined story about ours and theirs! I think it will be interesting to see how I can put both of them together, but I think I can! I’m so excited.

Then, I’m also going to work on getting a couple of feature stories written about people in our community that have done lots of work. The USO is going to be leaving Hanau next month and we’re losing a volunteer that comes down from Frankfurt 2 or 3 times a week, so I’m gonna talk to him, plus a few units that are deployed have some stuff in store for their Soldiers when they come home. I think it’s going to be exciting, but busy, all the same!

Lilo still wants to go out, even though I think that her front paw is bothering her. She’s limping around here and holding her foot, just like the picture below. She won’t let me touch it, so I can’t tell if it’s broken or not…it seems to have gotten worse in the last couple of days 😦

Well, I’m going to leave you for now, but I want to wish you a happy day! 🙂

Sunday Blues

It’s raining here in Germany today. It’s grey and cloudy. I’m getting used to it by now. It’s been like this the better part of the summer. Rob and I drove to Kaiserslautern to get some stuff to decorate the Haunted House with and we happened to be at the store that was having a 75% off sale. We practically bought the store out. Rob also got me a Cinnamon candle and new Wii game. I found a book that sounds interesting and a magazine. I wanted to get Rob some sunglasses for his birthday, but he said that there was nothing that looked good for him.

On a side note, isn’t it a bit early for Christmas stuff to be out? There were several isles in 2 different stores with a TON of stuff! I, for one, love Christmas, but I do think it’s a bit early for this stuff to be out! Halloween is still 10 days away! Oh well.

More about nothing

Today has been a busy day. It started for me at 9 am. I got up and watched my morning TV programs and then at noon, Rob and I started out the door to go to lunch, when I heard the phone ring from the other side of the front door, which was locked. I rushed to open it, but by then the phone had stopped ringing. Luckily, I answered it anyway and it was a call about the haunted house that the batteries are putting together for this coming weekend. We went to lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon going over details for the house. After we finished that up, Rob says, “Do you just wanna get out of here?” Of course, I said yes. We started to drive to Kaiserslautern, and we must have been no more than 20 miles away when he remembers that I’m supposed to be in two places at once. It was too late for me to attend the PWOC retreat dinner, but we still had time for me to make it to bowling, so we turned the car around and headed for the bowling alley.

I bowled pretty well tonight, considering that I’m still pretty sick and had my jacket on the entire time. I bowled a 149, a 121 and finally, a 134. Well above my average! I am, of course, very happy with the way that it went this evening.

I still need to try to attend the retreat tomorrow, even though there are tons of things to do around here.

I haven’t even been able to get a full sentence typed before Casey starts bugging me to throw his toy. He must be feeling neglected today. We had to leave him here all afternoon.

I better go for now. Thanks for reading.

Interesting day

Well, today has been quite an adventure. This morning I had PWOC and I found out one of the girls that attends doesn’t have an FRG to go to. She’s the only one left from her unit, so I invited her to mine. It’ll be good for her, I think. I love adopting people and it’s just for a short time. I don’t know when her hubby will be home, but Bravo can be there to welcome them home. Rob and I had talked about adopting an FRG group that was deployed, but some how, it never really worked out. We have a friend who’s going through her 2nd deployment-back to back and we thought we would adopt his unit, but they are a little far away. Well, we didn’t really expect to adopt a family, but when the opportunity presented itself, I had to offer! She seemed so excited, and I’m really happy about that!

Then, afterwards, I had gone shopping for a birthday gift for Rob. All I knew was that he wanted a new pair of sunglasses, since he had lost the ones he had. I’ll still get him those, but I found a bunch of stuff at the PX to get him. He’s getting really excited about the BMW M3 car that’s coming out and he’s already put a deposit on the vehicle, so we’re just waiting for it to be released to the states. Right now, it’s released in Germany, but it’s way more expensive and then we’d have to pay to have the car put into American specs, which hardly seems worth it. So, I found a magazine at the Exchange that had a picture of the M3 on the cover and there’s a lot of interesting pictures inside (I peeked!), so he’ll be happy with that. Then, I found an expansion pack to the game he really enjoys playing, Total War II, so you can imagine my excitement…he’s been getting bored with the game, but he pulled it off the shelf the other day because he really wanted to play a game–any game! And after all that he’s done for me, I just couldn’t stop there, so I found a Dilbert Comic Book that he would enjoy, titled, Words You Don’t Want to Hear During Your Annual Review: A Dilbert Comic Book so needless to say, I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to read it.

As for me, yesterday I got a package in the mail. Rob went ahead and got my anniversary and Christmas gifts early. He got me a new lens and speedlight flash for my camera. I wanted this stuff anyway, but I needed the new equipment for the photo shoot that my battery is going to do for the battalion Christmas party. I need time to get used to the new lens. I’ve got some great shots that I’m going to post on the Farrell Photo Album, so check over there, when you get done with this! http://oh2btigger.blogspot.com/2007/10/new-lens-and-speedlight-flash-test.html I’m really excited! Anyway, that’s about it from this side of the world!

[none]

I have no idea what I want to write about, much less know what to title this thing! Nothing much to talk about. I’m still a little sick, though I am feeling better.

I feel very busy, but I haven’t really left the house since Friday night. I’m comfortable here and I love my couch. Casey makes me get out of the house every couple of hours. Rob has to work late and God only knows when I’ll see him tonight. This is a busy week for him, for sure.

We get a 3-day weekend this week and that makes me feel good. At least I get to see him for a couple of days 🙂

Well, nothing more to talk about today. Ciao!

So proud

Today is Rob’s birthday and he had his GRE exam this morning. He did so well. He’s so smart, that sometimes I wonder why he married me…

He had to go into work after his exam and didn’t get home until pretty late. I’m still pretty sick, but I am feeling slightly better today compared to the last couple of days. Anyway, other than that, nothing is going on today. Going to go for now.
