Interesting day

Well, today has been quite an adventure. This morning I had PWOC and I found out one of the girls that attends doesn’t have an FRG to go to. She’s the only one left from her unit, so I invited her to mine. It’ll be good for her, I think. I love adopting people and it’s just for a short time. I don’t know when her hubby will be home, but Bravo can be there to welcome them home. Rob and I had talked about adopting an FRG group that was deployed, but some how, it never really worked out. We have a friend who’s going through her 2nd deployment-back to back and we thought we would adopt his unit, but they are a little far away. Well, we didn’t really expect to adopt a family, but when the opportunity presented itself, I had to offer! She seemed so excited, and I’m really happy about that!

Then, afterwards, I had gone shopping for a birthday gift for Rob. All I knew was that he wanted a new pair of sunglasses, since he had lost the ones he had. I’ll still get him those, but I found a bunch of stuff at the PX to get him. He’s getting really excited about the BMW M3 car that’s coming out and he’s already put a deposit on the vehicle, so we’re just waiting for it to be released to the states. Right now, it’s released in Germany, but it’s way more expensive and then we’d have to pay to have the car put into American specs, which hardly seems worth it. So, I found a magazine at the Exchange that had a picture of the M3 on the cover and there’s a lot of interesting pictures inside (I peeked!), so he’ll be happy with that. Then, I found an expansion pack to the game he really enjoys playing, Total War II, so you can imagine my excitement…he’s been getting bored with the game, but he pulled it off the shelf the other day because he really wanted to play a game–any game! And after all that he’s done for me, I just couldn’t stop there, so I found a Dilbert Comic Book that he would enjoy, titled, Words You Don’t Want to Hear During Your Annual Review: A Dilbert Comic Book so needless to say, I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to read it.

As for me, yesterday I got a package in the mail. Rob went ahead and got my anniversary and Christmas gifts early. He got me a new lens and speedlight flash for my camera. I wanted this stuff anyway, but I needed the new equipment for the photo shoot that my battery is going to do for the battalion Christmas party. I need time to get used to the new lens. I’ve got some great shots that I’m going to post on the Farrell Photo Album, so check over there, when you get done with this! http://oh2btigger.blogspot.com/2007/10/new-lens-and-speedlight-flash-test.html I’m really excited! Anyway, that’s about it from this side of the world!
