It’s official

I’ve got insomnia! Uggh! Need sleep. Busy day tomorrow. Going shopping for shoes. Sorry that I haven’t updated more, but since Lilo’s “probable” death (and I say this because, supposedly, there was a Lilo sighting today! I’m not holding out too much, but there is a glimmer of hope in my heart!) I haven’t really felt like blogging too much. I did want to blog this evening a little bit.

I *promise* there will be pictures for you, but I’m just not feeling up to it right now. I’m sure you can understand that-yes?

Okay, well, I guess I better try to get some sleep or I’m going to be worthless tomorrow…rather even worse than I’ve been! Ciao!

Lilo

I have bad news. My Lilo-kitty died. She probably got hit by a car, but I’m not sure when or exactly how she died and my next door neighbor came over, looking very worried. She asked when the last time I saw Lilo–it was last week. Tuesday was the last time I saw her, but her last sighting was on Wednesday morning.

We got new neighbors last week and she saw the new neighbors, she must have freaked out. She was a very friendly cat, once she got to know you, but until then, she was very leery about new people.

Anyway, so the neighbor says, “Do you want to go see if that’s your cat?” She didn’t have to ask me twice. I bolted out the door. She appeared to be headed back into her house, but I asked if she could show me where she saw her. She walked with me. We stayed inside the fence line, but she couldn’t see her, so we walked out the gate and we still didn’t see her. We were waiting for the construction workers to finish so we could ask them if they had seen a cat, but I looked down the road and I asked her if that was it. She shrugged and we walked down the street. It was about 15 feet and then I realized that it was my cat. She was in bad shape. Her gut had a hole in it, her intestines hanging out, her mouth was wide open, bloody and her eyeball was protruding out of her head. I can’t say for 100% that it was my cat, but I’m 98% certain it was her. All I could do was cry.

My neighbor hugged me and wouldn’t allow me to look at Lilo again. She said, “You don’t need to see this again.” She walked back with me on post and then she offered to clean up her remains and bury her. I asked if she wanted me to go with her or help, but she said no, just repay the favor to someone else.

I tried to call Rob as soon as I got in the house, I was bawling. His phone was off, so I had to call his office and leave a message for him to call me back ASAP. I also left a message with me bawling to my in-laws and Dad called me back right away. The Chaplain’s wife came over to talk to me for a few minutes and I also talked to another neighbor of mine. As soon as Rob got home, he could tell I wasn’t feeling well and gave me big hugs.

I don’t think that Casey and Gizmo really understand that Lilo died, but I told Gizmo. He purred and gave me lots of snuggles today. I don’t know if he understands that she’s dead, but he understands that I’m upset and was trying to comfort me. My animals are my life! I’m going to post some pictures of Lilo later.

Thanks for reading.

Freezing outside

I stood outside in the freezing cold all day today to sell hot chocolate to Soldiers who were playing football. It was a lot of fun, but I’m still shivering! I’ve got a bit of a headache and even though I’m tired, I took a couple of sleeping pills. So, I’m off to bed because tomorrow is the Mess Hall’s Thanksgiving dinner, which of course, I have to attend.

Rob and I are leaving for Garmish Thursday morning for a long, quiet weekend. I doubt that I’ll post again until after we get back, but there will for sure be pictures to post! Aren’t you excited?

Thanks for reading and have a VERY happy Thanksgiving!

I’ve finally realized…

What it is that I should blog about…blah, I know it’s all pretty random anyway, but after re-reading my Goofy blog, I think I should talk more about the way I view my world!  It might make for a more interesting blog!  I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before!  I’m so silly!

Welcome to my world!

The Biography of Goofy

I ADORE Goofy! He and Tigger are my two favorite Disney characters of all time. I got to thinking about how I am a lot like him!!! I found this so intriguing that I thought I would go ahead and post a link to it. I found it here.

The only reason I’m thinking about it is because there is a Mickey marathon today and they are playing a lot of Goofy shorts and I just adore them. Rob’s absorbed into his video game and so I feel free to watch cartoons all day! Is that so wrong? It’s not like I watch cartoons all the time, but I do like watching them every now and then! Especially Goofy cartoons. Don’t get me wrong, any Disney short cartoon will do just fine!

When I was a kid, my dad used to tell me that when he got to go see the movies, he always looked forward to the films that had a Disney short! He said that it made it so much more fun to go to the movies. I’ve racked my brain trying to think of a time where there was a newsreel or a cartoon short before the movie started. I don’t know if Rob can remember such a time, but the thought is a bit idyllic. I remember stuff from history classes and feel reminiscent about a time that is long, long gone!

Oh! Please don’t get me wrong, I embrace the world I live in now. I adopt the latest technology, even if it will be obsolete quickly and replaced by newer and newer technology! I love it! I’m a little modern and a little old fashioned!

Welcome to my world!

New Printer

Well, if you’ve read my previous post, you’d know that my printer pooped out on me. So, Rob and I drug ourselves to the PX and we were considering the same printer that broke, but then we looked at the next printer up, which was the Epson CX8400. It was $100 and the other printer I was looking at was is the one pictured…as you might have guessed, we ended up with the pictured printer. So far, this seems like a good printer. It’s a little bit more complicated, but I think it’s a better printer. It better be for the extra $100 it cost us.

Rob’s decided that we are not to go to send out to print our pictures anymore and fully expects me to print them out from now on. The package that includes 150 sheets of paper and ink is only $35-not too shabby, actually! It is a better value than buying the Epson inks.

I’ve always had good luck with the HP printers!!! So, we’ll see! Wish me luck!!

Tournament Bowling

Well, yesterday was Position Round last night and I didn’t do very well. I did, however manage to break 100 in all of the games. I bowled a 118, 104 and 105. I don’t know why I bowled so poorly, but I must have psyched myself out…because even though I was in a really good mood, I just couldn’t find myself, my mark or my spot. Everything was all wrong last night! Oh well. Oh, and yes, this is my ball! I love it! Its getting worn out, scratched up and all that! I’m thinking about getting a new ball–a fingertip when we go back to the states…not that it will improve my bowling any, no, actually, it will make it worse at first. I guess I’ll be spending a lot of time practicing!!! 😉

Well, I better get going. Lots of stuff to do today and I promised hubby that I would get it done today!!!

War and Peace

Well, after all the years that I said that I was going to read this book, I finally checked the book out of the library and I’m thinking about starting it now, but I need to see what needs to be done, in terms of work this week. I can’t remember and I didn’t email it to myself…ugh, I’m such an idiot.

All the animals are sleeping again (are you surprised???) Lilo’s on the couch, Gizmo is somewhere (I can’t find him!) and Casey’s on the floor.)

I was talking to a friend of mine today and her husband is looking at getting a new D-SLR camera and I happen to have a lot of experience in researching them because last year Rob got me a new camera for our anniversary. He’d got me a nice tele zoom camera for Christmas the year before–but I didn’t like it that well and I since I am an aspiring photojournalist, Rob thought I should have a nice camera! It was so sweet of him to get it for me. After I started researching cameras, I realized that it wasn’t the camera body that you have to worry about, it’s the “glass” that gets expensive! I should remember that tip for her husband. The other tipping point was the card type that the camera took. I have a ton of SD Cards and the Nikon was the only one that took that variety and my husband pointed out that if I spent $100 less on the camera, I would be spending $200 on cards! He had a point, you know! LOL. Well, now that I’ve got my mind on this, I’m going to see what magazines have the reviews and see if I can find the reviews on DPreviews.com.

I haven’t quite finished with Playing for Pizza, but it’s funny because one of the guys on his team is FROM Denver and so that just makes the book that much more compelling for me to read. I have a great idea, but I can’t say it here! Well, anyway, I’m gonna get going for now.

Have a great day! TTFN and thanks for reading.
