Munich Weekend!

This weekend my husband and I went to Munich! Oh, how I love that city! I could live there if I could afford to! Munich is definitely in my top 5 cities of all time!

The weekend started out by the alarm clock that didn’t go off. We wanted to be out of town by 5 AM, but we didn’t get out of here until 7:30. We drove all morning and got to our hotel. We actually put the street in our GPS and it turns out that there are several streets with the same name. We ended up driving an extra 30 minutes because we went to the wrong place to begin with. When we finally got to the hotel, we checked in, dropped our stuff off and headed to the Oktoberfest. We easily found a table inside the Ochsen fest-tent where we were greeted by several older German couples. One gentleman that we sat next to said that his sister lived in El Paso and the other couple lived in Munich. We had a grand time. The waitress said that we only had a couple of hours there, so at 4 pm we headed off to some place else. We walked around inside the Hofbraeu tent, but there was no seating available. We settled in at the Augustiner tent where we met a young couple from Munich. After we were done there, we walked around Oktoberfest and Rob and I did some shooting games. Rob did well…I did not. That rifle was heavy! Not like an M-16 at all!! Then, we walked around and rode a few of the rides and around 11:30, we headed back to our hotel room.

I guess Rob had gotten a message on his phone shortly after Karee and Brandon Brown had their 2nd baby! They had a little girl that they named Ellie Grace. She’s so precious and a little bit of a squeaker! Very sweet.

Anyway, after we had breakfast at the hotel, we checked out and the gal who worked there didn’t know anything about VAT forms so, we paid like 31 euro in taxes! She also didn’t charge us for the breakfast and much to the chagrin of my husband, I asked if she had charged us for the meal (and I hardly ate anything!) so then we headed out to a BMW dealer so that Rob could get a look at the new M3. Well, at this place, they did not have an M3 to show us, so we headed off to the Deutches Museum. It was much different than I expected. I’ve been to a lot of museums, but this was the first time that I had seen a pretty modern one. I expected something else, I think, but it was fun all the same. There was so much to see, and definitely not enough time in a day to see everything. I know we’ll have to go back, but it’s taken me 6 years to finally see it, so I don’t know WHEN we’ll go back to it!

We finally drove home and a 3 hour drive was more like 4 and a half! Traffic was slow as molasses on a cold winter’s day-uphill! and the trucks were trying to pass each other, so of course that slowed the show down a lot. We were in 2 or 3 stau’s (traffic-jams) and we were moving like a herd of turtles. I was begging Rob to go see the Browns, though he wanted to wait until today to go. It wasn’t yet 8pm, but he thought that it was too late and that Karee and the baby would be sleeping. As it happened, she was walking around the hallway with Ellie and the baby was a little fussy because she was so hungry! She’s a little squeaker! HeeHee.

Well, that’s all for now, I can’t think of anything else that would be interesting. Have a nice day and thanks for reading!
