Starting out on the right foot

Well, today I started my new regiment of exercise and diet.  So far, so good.

I should have mentioned before my goals:  To become healthier, make better choices about my diet, start an exercise routine that I can stick with and get my weight under control–my ideal weight is between 130 and 135.

Weigh in:

160 (technically, 159.8, but who’s counting, right?)

Exercise:

35 minutes on elliptical machine, 3 sets of 10 ab machine.
Calories burned: around 250

Diet:

Breakfast: A bowl of Life Cinnamon flavored cereal with 1% milk.
Calories consumed: approximately 300

Lunch: 2 Boca Burgers with American Cheese on Italian Bread
Calories Consumed: Approx. 230

Snack: Did not have a snack

Dinner: Mango Glazed Chicken
Calories Consumed: 240

Total Calories consumed today: 770
(I so didn’t mean to eat so little today, but I do have a propensity towards anorexia)

Perhaps I should not worry about having a snack and eat slightly larger main meals, but I don’t know if that would work or not.  I like having the option to have a snack before Rob gets home from work…

  1. I tried to keep a food diary once, but I ate so many times during the day and ate so many things, it was ridiculous! 🙂

Good luck w/ the weight loss, it’ll be hard but oh so worth it. Oh, and I would definitely be counting (I’d go w/ the 159.8 but probably lose the .8 in storytelling!!).
